The multi-agent laboratory in Kyushu University, headed by Professor
Makoto Yokoo, who is an AAAI (Association for the Advancement of
Artificial Intelligence) fellow and a past president of IFAAMAS
(Int. Foundation for Autonomous Agents and Multiagent Systems), is now
hiring one post-doctoral researcher in market design, multi-agent
systems, and in particular, two-sided matching.

*Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and
established track record evident by publication in top quality
conferences and/or journals. Expertise in one or more of the following
areas is a must: market design, game theory and economic paradigms,
heuristic search and optimization, machine learning applications,
multi-agent systems, etc.
*Place of work: Fukuoka in Japan
*Salary and benefits:
Gross salary per month (including taxes, insurances, and other things)
will be about JPY 350,000 (about US$2,700 at the current rate).
The exact amount will be decided in accordance with the employment
regulations, the successful applicant’s past accomplishments, etc.
*Contract period of employment:
The start date will be November 1, 2023(Negotiable) and
the end date is March 31, 2024, which can be extended based on mutual agreement.

Research and education for the topics presented in 4.
Education for the graduate students in the Graduate School of Information Science and Electrical Engineering, and for the undergraduate students in the School of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. - Contract: This is a 5-year tenure-track position. The successful candidate will be reviewed in the third year (the midterm review) and in the fifth year (the final review) and become a tenured member at the end of the fifth year subject to successful performance.
- Working hours, break time, and overtime work: 7 hours and 45 minutes per day based on discretionary labor system for professional work.
- Holiday: Saturday, Sunday, public holidays and from December 29 to January 3.
- Salary: Annual salary system (started from April 1, 2020) will be applied. Base annual salary is determined based on professional experience, job responsibilities and other relevant factors along with the University’s related regulations.

- Qualifications: The candidate should
(i) have a Ph.D or equivalent.
(ii) be enthusiastic in teaching and research.
(iii) able to teach, supervise, and give lectures in English. - Start date: On or after 1st April 2023 (as soon as possible)

(vi) The candidate who belongs to a university must include a track record of securing research funding. The candidate who belongs to an industry must include the details of the research projects involved.
